AUTHORS AND ILLUSTRATORS
DAWN HULLINGS is a South Jersey nurse, grandmother, and lifelong rescuer. President of One Love Animal Rescue, she and her husband share a home with six dogs and a stream of fosters. This book grew from deep loss: after her granddaughter Marlee passed, Dawn wanted to honor her, while bringing light to grieving children and their families. A gentle black cat's arrival during this time felt like a gift. These pages unfold in his caring voice. Proceeds support animal rescues and families in grief-compassion carried forward.
JAMIE TOWNSEND lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, one rescue cat—who happens to love cake- and one rescue dog. She teaches at a Montessori school, where she nurtures curiosity, kindness, and creativity in young learners. Outside the classroom, Jamie is deeply involved in animal rescue efforts and offers heartfelt support to fellow loss parents and fertility communities.
