JORDIE’S GARDEN OF LIGHT

Drawn to a house that shines like the sun, a street cat arrives just as a couple prepares for joy. But the seasons turn. Light thins and the house grows quiet. Instead of slipping away for the winter, he feels compelled to stay. One cold evening, the door opens, and they usher him in. Through snow and thaw, his purr softens the hush until a dreary, tangled patch blooms into a light-filled garden. Luminous and comforting, Jordie's Garden of Light is a gentle companion for hard seasons where hope returns and love blooms again.

AUTHORS AND ILLUSTRATORS

DAWN HULLINGS is a South Jersey nurse, grandmother, and lifelong rescuer. President of One Love Animal Rescue, she and her husband share a home with six dogs and a stream of fosters. This book grew from deep loss: after her granddaughter Marlee passed, Dawn wanted to honor her, while bringing light to grieving children and their families. A gentle black cat's arrival during this time felt like a gift. These pages unfold in his caring voice. Proceeds support animal rescues and families in grief-compassion carried forward.

JAMIE TOWNSEND lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, one rescue cat—who happens to love cake- and one rescue dog. She teaches at a Montessori school, where she nurtures curiosity, kindness, and creativity in young learners. Outside the classroom, Jamie is deeply involved in animal rescue efforts and offers heartfelt support to fellow loss parents and fertility communities. Her compass is compassion —whether for children, animals, or families; it's woven into everything she does. Love, resilience, and hope inspired this book

KAITY LACY is the illustrator of four critically acclaimed children's books that celebrate all beings-two-legged, four-legged, even no-legged. An art educator in Pennsylvania, Kaity guides students in drawing, painting, and the quiet practice of really seeing. Her canvases often go straight from easel to rescue, raising funds that keep food in bowls and lights on in clinics. At home, she and her husband foster pets-usually the tough medical cases. In short, her art works wonders, on canvas and out in the world.
